The tragedy in Tabaco City, Albay yesterday morning left two people dead and three others injured after a delivery truck plowed into a tricycle in Brgy. Quinastillohan.
The trike driver identified as Domingo and a passenger whose identity has not yet been determined died instantly. A girl, her mother, and even the truck driver identified as Raul were injured. All of them were rushed to the Ziga Memorial District Hospital.
According to the report, it was past 9 a.m. when the truck carrying steel lost its brakes. While traveling along the highway, the driver honked loudly and the signalman signaled for people and motorists to give way. Despite this, the tricycle was still involved.
The force of the collision threw the mother and daughter, while the trike driver and another passenger were seriously injured and both died. The truck even reached Brgy. San Antonio before coming to a complete stop.
The incident has caused great fear and apprehension among residents, who are now calling for tighter surveillance and security against road hazards.
