RFID installation for 400cc scooters OK, just need to verify with LTO first

The RFID installation for 400cc scooters remains open, contrary to allegations circulating online. Tollways officials have clarified that RFID application for this type of motorcycle is not prohibited. All that is required is thorough verification of the vehicle's details before it is finally allowed to use the expressways.

Due to the increase in entry-level big bikes and maxi-scooters, the document checking process has been tightened. There have been incidents where incorrect or manipulated registrations have been found, particularly in engine displacement. To avoid this, submission of official vehicle registration and contact with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to confirm the actual engine displacement is now required.

If the 400cc requirement is proven legitimate, the owner will be contacted immediately to schedule the RFID installation. Reminder to riders: following the correct process is not only for a fast trip, but also for the safety, legality, and fair use of the country's tollways.
