A fourth suspect in the killing of policewoman Diane Marie Mollenido and her eight-year-old son voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Monday. Formal documentation of the suspect continues as part of the process before being subjected to inquest in the coming hours or days.
According to the police, the newly surrendered suspect is the brother of one of the previously arrested, a dismissed police officer who is with his wife and a helper who are also in the custody of the authorities. Currently, four suspects are detained at the detention facility of the Quezon City Police District, while a thorough investigation into the case continues.
Investigators are also focusing on a person of interest—Mollenido's estranged wife, who is also a police officer. She is considered important in solving the case because of possibly valuable information she could provide. Meanwhile, the investigation remains open, especially since the remains of the mother and daughter were found in separate locations in Central Luzon in late January.
