The iPhone Air is a unique smartphone that could set a new standard in design. It is incredibly thin at just 5.6 mm thick and incredibly light, weighing just 165 grams despite having a 6.5-inch screen. It is even lighter than the iPhone 17 and 16e.
The iPhone Air not only wins in terms of thinness and lightness, but also in design. The iPhone's appearance hasn't changed much since the iPhone 11, but now the Air looks more fresh and modern, especially in Cloud White and Light Gold.
Though thin, it's not fragile. It has an aerospace-grade titanium frame and Ceramic Shield 2 protection. In one test, it took nearly 97 kilograms of force to break the phone, and even then the screen still worked.
It's also powerful because it uses the A19 Pro chip—the same as the Pro models. There's a 48MP Fusion camera that can zoom and adjust focal length, as well as a Center Stage front camera that automatically adjusts orientation. It's perfect for content creators because both the front and back cameras can record 4K 60fps.
The battery is only 3,561 mAh (the unit is priced at around ₱65,000), smaller than many Android phones. But thanks to Apple optimizations, it can last up to 27 hours of video playback and charges quickly—50% in just 30 minutes.
Just as laptop design changed with the MacBook Air, it's possible that the same thing will happen in the smartphone world with the release of the iPhone Air.
