Mortal Kombat 3 is confirmed to be in production and Jeremy Slater will rewrite the script. The news was announced at New York Comic Con, along with Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Martyn Ford, Simon McQuoid, and Tati Gabrielle.
The decision comes after the huge success of the Mortal Kombat II trailer, which garnered more than 107 million views in 24 hours. As a result, the studio is confident that fan demand for the next film is still strong.
Slater said the studio was so happy with the outcome of the sequel that he was immediately hired to write the third film. According to him, the fight will be more intense and Johnny Cage will star more with other Earthrealm champions.
