A 7-year-old aspin in Legazpi City, Albay passed away after grieving the death of his master.
The family's story is that the dog, Mitchu, became quiet and lethargic after seeing the remains of his owner, Father Carlos on August 29. After that, he barely ate until they found him dead on September 6.
According to Dr. Riza Zarte, Mitchu may have experienced depression and separation anxiety. Just like humans, dogs can lose their appetite and survive when the person closest to them is gone.
Mitchu was buried in the yard of their house, right under his master's coffin. For the family, Mitchu showed that dogs are truly loyal friends of man.
Their story brought tears to the eyes and touched the hearts of many netizens, proving once again how deep the love between humans and pets can be.
