A 34-year-old teacher died after being stabbed by her barber husband, 37, at their home in Barangay Mascap, Rodriguez, Rizal on Wednesday morning, July 23. According to police, the couple's fight started over a social media post.
When the argument became heated, the suspect poured hot coffee on the teacher and stabbed her multiple times. The couple's minor child said the fight was caused by jealousy. There were also issues with the victim often coming home at night.
According to PLt. Col. Paul Sabulao, the suspect had previously been reported for assaulting his child. The matter was resolved before, so the man temporarily left, but recently returned home. After the crime, the suspect fled but was immediately arrested by the police.
The teacher was rushed to the hospital but died. The suspect is now facing parricide charges and is detained at the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station. The PNP reminded the couple to resolve the problem properly to avoid tragedy.
