Two motels in Quezon City were closed after it was discovered that they were letting in minors who were allegedly used as sex workers.
This was discovered during an operation conducted by authorities against child trafficking in the city. According to the report, several young people were caught in rooms rented in the said motels.
The Quezon City LGU has issued a warning to other establishments. They are reminding them to follow ordinances aimed at protecting youth from abuse.
Motels and hotels are also reminded to strictly implement ID checking, especially if there are suspicious guests or minors.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is possible that the number of establishments involved will increase if they are proven to be violating the law.
