Russian-American vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy has been released on bail after being arrested in Pasay City for assaulting and harassing Filipinos for content. Despite being released on bail, he was still returned to the custody of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
He is facing a case of unjust vexation at the Regional Trial Court Branch 153 in Taguig. On June 11, Vitaly was brought to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). He was granted bail on June 18, and was immediately returned to the BI facility at Camp Bagong Diwa.
According to BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, he still cannot be released even if he has bail. “He has a deportation case, so even if he can post bail in local cases, he will still be returned to the BI,” he said. He was also declared an undesirable alien so he cannot roam around.
Vitaly requested temporary liberty, saying he would not flee and would remain in the NCR. However, according to Viado, he will not be deported until the cases and punishments he faces in the country are over.
Vitaly was arrested on April 2 in front of a hotel in Pasay. In a video of him on Kick titled "Vitaly disturbing the peace in the Philippines", he can be seen disrupting people in BGC, riding a patrol motorcycle, taking the guard's cap, and blocking people. He even filmed the guard despite his objections and sang “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga while teasing him. Among his other stunts, he stole an electric fan and hit a passenger while riding a tricycle.
