Apple has launched the second generation of AirTag, with a more powerful chip and greater range to make it easier to find lost items, even at greater distances.
According to the tech giant, the new device has a second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip, which is the same as the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch Series 11. This makes “Precision Finding” more accurate, being able to track items up to 1.5 times farther than the previous model.
In addition, AirTag's sound has also been improved. It has a speaker that is 50% louder and a new distinctive chime that can be heard even under the covers or in the other room. The upgraded Bluetooth chip extends the range for general tracking using the Find My network. For the first time, “Precision Finding” will also be available on Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2, with watchOS 26.2.1, directly on the user's wrist.
Along with the launch, Apple is also expanding the “Share Item Location” feature, which allows you to share the location of an AirTag via a secure link with others. Apple has partnered with 36 global carriers to make it easier to recover mishandled luggage, although no local airlines are included in the current partnership.
The new AirTag 2 is priced at ₱1,990 for a single piece and ₱6,790 for a four-pack. You can also customize the tracker with free engraving at the Apple online store.
