The head of an abandoned baby was found by a pup in Purok 10, Lubas 1, Barangay Camp 7, Minglanilla, Cebu on Monday afternoon. According to police, a resident saw the puppy carrying something, so he approached it until the baby's head fell off.
Initial investigations suggested that the baby may have been abandoned by an unknown individual. Authorities attempted to search for the baby's body 50 meters from the scene, but it was never found. The mother of the puppy was found, and there was blood in the dog's mouth, so it is possible that the dog ate the body.
The police are now searching for the baby's mother and others possibly involved in the abandonment. The baby's head has been moved to the bone chamber of the Minglanilla Public Cemetery while the investigation continues.
