
Crime in Metro Manila slightly decreased in 2025, according to a report by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). A total of 6,386 index crimes were recorded, down 3.34% compared to 2024.
The index crimes include theft, murder, homicide, physical assault, rape, burglary, car and motorcycle theft. Authorities did not detail each number, but they emphasized providing security to major events such as Traslacion 2025, EDSA People Power Anniversary, Labor Day, and State of the Nation Address by President Marcos.
In 2025, 252 police officers were dismissed, 19 were demoted, 312 were suspended, and 50 were reprimanded. 14,717 arrests were also recorded and P866 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in anti-narcotics operations.
In addition, more than 2,700 loose firearms were seized in Metro Manila. 5,810 wanted persons were also apprehended, demonstrating active law enforcement in the region.
