Chappell Roan has launched the Midwest Princess Project, a program to support trans youth and LGBTQIA+ communities. Text
According to her Instagram post, the project has raised over USD 400,000 (approximately ₱24,000,000) from ticket sales of her pop-up shows ‘Visions and Damsels & Other Dangerous Things’. All proceeds will be donated to organizations that help trans youth.
Beneficiaries include groups in New York, Los Angeles, and Missouri, including centers that help with the health, rights, and support of LGBTQIA+ communities. Every peso is guaranteed to go to those in need after covering small expenses.
During the recent Grammy Awards, Roan shared her advocacy and praised the community's resilience. "The situation is difficult right now, but trans people will always exist and their joy will never fade," Roan said.
The project's name is inspired by her 2023 debut album, Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which celebrates Midwestern roots and LGBTQIA+ themes such as self-expression and identity.
