Collector Steve Sansweet, founder of Rancho Obi-Wan, has added a new LEGO Star Wars Death Star to his massive collection of Star Wars items. Located north of San Francisco, his museum has more than 400,000 Star Wars memorabilia — from toys, to apparel, to rare collaborations.
Inside the museum, you can see a variety of Star Wars collectibles such as bootleg toys, Japanese snacks from 1978, and limited edition jackets. One of Sansweet's favorites is the Kaws-licensed Darth Vader and Stormtrooper figures, which shows how far Star Wars has influenced pop culture and art.
One of Sansweet's favorites is his LEGO Star Wars section, where you can find hundreds of sets organized by year and size. One of his new favorites is the LEGO Star Wars Death Star (2025 edition). It has 9,023 pieces, 38 minifigures, and scenes from A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.
The set features rotating laser cannons, retractable bridge, and improved Emperor’s throne room, which is more detailed than previous versions. It is priced at around ₱43,000, depending on the store.
According to Sansweet, it's not just a collection but a symbol of joy and childhood. For him, each LEGO piece is a reminder of where his love for Star Wars began — in stories, imagination, and connections with fans around the world.
