
The three people were arrested after being caught illegal LPG refilling in San Jose, Batangas. According to a report by the CIDG, the suspects were actually seen refilling LPG cylinders without a permit.
Some brand owners have complained about cross-filling of tanks with their company's name. According to Police Maj. Helen Dela Cruz, this is dangerous because the tanks can explode.
During the operation, a bullet truck carrying 38,000 liters of LPG, a delivery truck, refilling machines, compressors, scales, several filled LPG cylinders, and 193 empty tanks of various brands were seized. The total value of the confiscated items is estimated at ₱7.8 million.
CIDG reminds the public: do not buy LPG from unregistered refillers. Make sure you have a DOE sticker and an authorized supplier for everyone's safety.
The three suspects are now facing charges for violating the LPG Industry Regulation Act.
