Typhoon Kajiki has killed three people in Vietnam after bringing strong winds and flooding on Tuesday. An estimated 1.6 million people were left without power while thousands of homes were damaged.
In Vinh city, many trees and iron roofs fell onto the road, making it difficult for rescue workers and soldiers to clean up. More than 44,000 people were evacuated before the storm hit, while 27 villages in the mountains were cut off by floods.
In Hanoi, many roads were submerged in water, causing heavy traffic and making it difficult for residents to move around. According to residents, they have rarely experienced such strong winds and damage.
After weakening to a tropical depression, Kajiki crossed into Laos, also bringing heavy rains. In Vietnam, more than ₱6 billion worth of damage was reported in the first seven months of 2025 due to various disasters.
