A 59-year-old man, identified as Efren, was shot dead outside a church on Circumferential Road, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City yesterday.
Based on the police report, the victim had just left the church when a black SUV stopped near him. Moments later, the assailant opened fire on him and immediately fled.
Efren sustained six bullet wounds to the body and died instantly. No devotees were injured as they were still inside the church when the incident occurred.
Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage to identify and arrest the suspect. It was learned that the victim was a driver at the church and the motive for the crime is still being investigated.
