According to the Korean Embassy, there have been 200 crime cases against Koreans in the Philippines this year. These include 2 murder cases, 3 kidnappings for ransom, and 11 robberies.
Due to security threats, the number of Korean tourists entering the country has decreased. The PNP has promised to further strengthen protection for foreigners through additional tourist police and language training to better assist non-Filipino victims.
