The body of an 8-year-old girl who was swept away by floods in Taytay, Rizal was found past 7:45 a.m. in Barangay Sta. Ana on Friday.
According to the report, the child fell into a canal next to a stream in the Pag-asa Street area on Wednesday night, around 6 p.m. He was swept away by the strong current of the water.
After a temporary halt, search and rescue operation was resumed by Taytay MDRRMO personnel together with the Philippine Coast Guard on Thursday morning.
However, the operation was halted on Thursday night, but resumed the next day until the child's body was found.
The incident caused great sadness in the community especially since many residents were also affected by rising water levels in various areas in Rizal.
