Seven passengers were injured after an escalator malfunctioned at the LRT-1 FPJ Station in Quezon City on Friday.
According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), one of the injured was taken to the nearest hospital for examination and was immediately released after treatment.
The six other passengers were given first aid at the station. DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon said that the victims were immediately assisted and the damaged escalator was repaired.
Dizon added that the agency will continue to work with train operators to prevent similar incidents in the future.
