A 34-year-old man died after being shot by a riding-in-tandem in Las Piñas, Wednesday night. In CCTV footage, the pickup truck was seen stopping at a gas station before the shooting.
While loading gasoline, a motorcycle stopped near the pickup and the rider opened fire on it. According to PCol. Sandro Jay Dela Cruz Taffala, the victim was shot multiple times. In fear, the driver stepped on the gas, causing the pickup to crash into a wall.
The perpetrators fled after the shooting. 12 sachets of suspected shabu, money, a laptop, and cards were found in the pickup. One of the motives being investigated by the police is the victim's involvement in illegal drugs. At least nine empty shells were recovered from the scene.
The man was rushed to the hospital but was dead on arrival. According to the mother, the victim was a DJ and was on his way to a gig before the incident. A hot pursuit operation is ongoing to catch the perpetrators.
