The fire in Barangay 93, Tondo, Manila broke out at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. It is estimated that around 30 houses were destroyed and more than 100 families were affected.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire reached third alarm, prompting the immediate response of about 50 firefighters and fire volunteers. However, they had difficulty putting out the fire due to strong winds and the light materials of the houses.
FSINSP Ronald Lim of BFP Manila said this was a major challenge in their operation. Many residents barely managed to save any belongings due to the haste in evacuating.
The fire caused an estimated P100,000 in damage. Initial investigation indicated that it started on the second floor of a house, possibly caused by an electrical problem.
No deaths or injuries were reported. It was declared a fire out after 7 a.m..
