Chevrolet has unveiled the “California Corvette” concept inspired by Southern California vibes and classic Corvette DNA. It is the second of three global Corvette concepts to be revealed in 2025.
Designed as a one-off hypercar, it features a front-hinged canopy, carbon tub, and racing-simulator-inspired cockpit. The single-piece canopy transforms from a coupe to an open-air track car, representing a combination of agility and innovation.
According to Brian Smith, design director of GM Advanced Design Pasadena, “This concept is crafted from a Southern California perspective but with a global and futuristic outlook.” It emphasizes duality—heritage and experimentation.
While there are no plans for production, it shows off GM's vision for the future. It features active aero features, staggered 21” and 22” wheels, and a prismatic battery layout. Inside, you'll find a minimalist, driver-focused cockpit with an augmented-reality HUD.
It follows the UK-designed Corvette concept and prepares for a third design study. This trio shows the evolving identity of the Corvette across continents and eras.
