TNT Tropang 5G is just one loss away from having their Grand Slam dream shattered, after being dumped by the San Miguel Beermen again in PBA Season 36. For TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa, San Miguel didn't just win—it was laced with boastfulness, especially from Jericho Cruz.
“It feels like a disgrace,” Lastimosa said after the match at the Mall of Asia Arena. According to him, Cruz did not do well in the final minutes of the game. “That's showboating, it shouldn't be like that in basketball,” he added.
Cruz's defense is that he didn't do anything wrong. "I was just jumping around, I didn't even look at him. I'm just happy to win," replied the former Adamson player who was once with Lastimosa in NLEX.
But this is not what Lastimosa used to be. “He's really arrogant. I've been with Coach Yeng [Guiao] at NLEX, he's really like that. I know he has personal issues, he just brings them to the court,” said Jolas.
For Lastimosa, TNT should focus on the game and forget about the drama. “There are no friends here,” he said as they continued to fight for their remaining hopes of a Grand Slam.
