A 54-year-old man was arrested in Brgy. Hipodromo, Cebu City after going wild and shouting in the street in the early hours of July 15, 2025. According to CCTV footage, Gino Omega was drunk and aggressive while arguing with his brother.
A witness also said that Omega took out and fired a gun outside their house. The type of gun used is not yet known. Police also did not find it in the area.
Around 1:25 a.m., the incident was reported to the Mabolo Police Station. According to Omega, he and his brother had a fight and it was he who called the police for help. He did not elaborate further on the cause of their dispute.
The Mabolo police said that even if Omega's brother does not file a case, he will still face a complaint for "alarm and scandal". This case carries a corresponding punishment of up to 30 days in jail or fine of up to ₱40,000 based on Republic Act No. 1196.
Omega is currently detained at the Mabolo Police custodial facility while the complaint against him is being processed.
