The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced that starting July 1, Taiwanese tourists may enter the Philippines visa-free for 14 days. This is aimed at boosting tourism and further strengthening the good relationship between the two countries.
According to the BI, this is in accordance with Presidential Directive PBBM-2025-1539 issued on April 3. The visa-free entry will last from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. This replaces the visa-free privilege granted by Taiwan to Filipino travelers.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the BI is in line with the president's desire to strengthen tourism and relations with other countries. Last year, a total of 235,674 Taiwanese arrivals were recorded.
Immigration personnel at the airport have been tasked with implementing the rules properly. A process is in place to make the entry of visitors quick and easy.
The BI also reminds that the 14-day stay cannot be extended and cannot be converted into another type of visa. It is expected that more tourists from Taiwan will visit various destinations in the country and help the local economy.
