A man was killed by his own brother after he woke him up to tell him that his son was hospitalized in Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
The incident occurred inside their house in Barangay Bari. According to police, Rafael Caoile became angry when his 44-year-old sister, Monny Caoile, woke him up to inform him that his son had been taken to the hospital because he was having difficulty breathing.
When Monny returned to her room, she was suddenly attacked. Rafael entered the room and stabbed her. Although wounded, Monny was able to run outside to ask for help but was chased and hit her head against the wall, causing her death.
It was learned that Monny had been drinking before the incident, but it is not yet clear if this was the root cause of the fight. According to police, Rafael Caoile is now facing a homicide case. The entire community was shocked and saddened because this happened during a family crisis.
