A Filipino businessman escaped unharmed after being ambushed in the parking lot of a mall on Amorsolo Street, Makati City on Thursday night, June 26, 2025. According to a witness, the victim had just gotten into his black SUV when a man wearing a hat suddenly approached and shot him four times. “Suddenly, someone ran and shot our boss. Then, he quickly fled,” the witness said.
The businessman was not hit by the bullet and was able to get out of the vehicle immediately. The gunman fled in a sedan driven by an accomplice. Soon, police caught up with them at Arnaiz Avenue corner Paseo De Roxas.
In less than two minutes, the two suspects, both Chinese nationals, were caught. three guns, knives, hammers, packing tape, and other items were seized from them. According to Police Colonel Reycon Garduque, the victim had no idea why he was ambushed because he had no quarrel with anyone.
The Makati PNP investigation is ongoing to determine if they are members of a gun-for-hire group and if they have connections to POGO. The suspects will face charges of Attempted Murder and Illegal Possession of Firearms. They declined to give a statement.
