The two men who were caught in Parañaque City with guns and C4 have already undergone an inquest, according to the PNP-HPG. The suspects were identified as alias JJ and Lito, and were charged before the City Prosecutors of Parañaque and Quezon City for illegal carrying of weapons, explosives, and use of unauthorized blinker.
The suspects' SUV was caught on Filipinas Avenue at around 1:40 p.m. after police noticed no license plate, use of blinkers, and lack of documents. Inside the vehicle, a Glock 19 pistol, bulletproof vest, weapons, and suspected C4 explosive were recovered. The verification also revealed that the vehicle is registered to alias JJ's company.
According to Lt. Nadame Malang, PNP-EOD/K9 Group will release a report on the C4, while also awaiting a report from the Firearms and Explosives Office on whether the gun is licensed—which is currently unregistered.
It was also learned in a press conference that alias JJ previously escaped an entrapment operation in Pasay last year. He is allegedly connected to extortion, estafa, and land-grabbing in Bulacan. The investigation is deepening to see if they are members of a larger group involved in illegal activities.
Investigators are also backtracking on another SUV that is said to be with the suspects, and it is possible that there are others with them. PNP-HPG are continuing to conduct a deeper investigation.
