Two electricity poles fell on Kabatuhan Street, Barangay 168, Deparo, North Caloocan on Monday, June 16. The incident was reported to the Caloocan DRRMO at around 2:08 p.m..
Due to the collapse of poles and the hanging electricity cables, motorists had difficulty passing. Fortunately, no one was injured and no vehicle was involved.
According to authorities, one of the reasons being investigated is overloading of cables. A resident also said that strong winds and rain may have also affected it. They also reportedly experienced a brownout for about 30 minutes.
Meralco and DRRMO personnel were immediately on the scene for the clearing operation. By five o'clock in the afternoon, the road was passable in both lanes again.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing to ensure that it does not happen again in other parts of the city.
