The LTO has issued a show cause order against the owner of the Yamaha NMAX motorcycle involved in the viral incident at the EDSA bus carousel. According to DOTr-SAICT, the rider did not stop even when asked to do so by authorities, and instead fled while allegedly insulting.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, around 7:00 a.m. near the Nepa Q-Mart Station, southbound lane. In the video that went viral online, it is clear that the rider violated Republic Act 4136 for Reckless Driving, No License, and being Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.
As a result, the LTO suspended the owner's license of the motorcycle for 90 days. His license and motorcycle were also placed under alarm, and he was ordered to surrender them on the day of the hearing.
The LTO summoned the owner and rider to their Intelligence and Investigation Division at East Avenue, Quezon City. If they do not attend, the decision will be based solely on the viral video.
