wife Dominique Benitez, who filed a case under the VAWC law (Republic Act 9262). According to the complaint, Dominique allegedly experienced emotional and psychological abuse due to Benitez's alleged infidelity and his relationship with actress and vlogger Ivana Alawi.
Based on the sworn statement, Dominique said she confirmed Benitez's infidelity after reading the petition for annulment, in which Benitez allegedly admitted that he had two children out of wedlock and was having an affair with Ivana. Dominique added that she was deeply hurt and devastated by the truth that had been kept from her for so long.
In a statement, Benitez's camp denied the allegations and questioned the motive of the complaint, which was filed after he initiated the annulment in 2024. He said that all of the family's properties and expenses, including his wife's business and lifestyle, are his responsibility, even though they have been separated since 2004.
Benedict also objected to the inclusion of Ivana Alawi in the complaint, saying she had nothing to do with the issue. He added that mentioning the names of others is a violation of Section 44 of the VAWC law, which states that details of the case should be confidential.
Meanwhile, Ivana denied the allegations in 2024. According to her, she has no relationship with Benitez and only met him at a job in Bacolod. She insisted that she is in a relationship with a private businessman and not a politician. She requested that her family be not implicated in the issue.
