A jeep loaded with 18 pigs fell into a ravine in Conner, Apayao. As a result, 2 people were killed and 3 people were injured. According to the investigation, the jeep was coming from Barangay Lenneng, Kabugao, after buying pigs.
While passing a curved section of the road, the driver lost control due to brake failure. The jeep fell into a 10-meter deep ravine and ended up in a swamp below.
Three other passengers were injured but no statement has been made by them yet. The owner has also recovered the pigs. Under Philippine law, the driver or owner can be held liable if it is proven that there was negligence in the maintenance of the vehicle that caused the accident.
