A French tourist was the victim of a scam in Makati City. According to the report, some men posed as tour guides and offered the tourist services.
While the tourist was with them, one of the men allegedly injected her with a sleeping pill. The victim lost consciousness and upon waking up, she discovered that some of her valuable belongings were missing.
This happened in an area in Makati where many tourists pass by. According to the police, the suspects used the guise of tour guides to get close to foreigners and cheat them.
On the same day, another foreigner was also victimized after a man grabbed his cellphone while walking on the street. Authorities quickly apprehended the suspect.
The police reminded the public, especially tourists, to be cautious when talking to strangers and to make sure the tour guides they hire are registered.
