
The NBI personnel successfully rescued six minors, including a two-year-old child, in an entrapment operation in Bombon, Camarines Sur. According to the investigation, the children were allegedly sold by their own mothers for online sexual exploitation.
The operation began after a referral from the Homeland Security Investigations Manila of the US Department of Homeland Security. It was determined that a Filipino was offering child sexual abuse materials online in exchange for dollar payment.
In the analysis of confiscated cellphones, some images showed four of the children were part of online exploitation. The children were allegedly used to create indecent content online.
The children's mother is facing serious charges such as RA 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act), Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Sec. 6), Child Abuse, and Qualified Human Trafficking. These cases are non-bailable.
The suspect is currently at the NBI detention center in Naga City and is undergoing inquest proceedings. investigations are still ongoing to determine if there are others involved in the case.
