The two men were arrested after committing a holdup at a coffee shop in Barangay 30, Maypajo, Caloocan, at around 11 p.m. on Monday, May 20. CCTV footage shows them immediately reporting the holdup, one pulling out a gun while the other snatched gadgets from customers.
The suspect took P2,500 from the cash register and then returned to the people to take other items. Upon exiting the coffee shop, the staff and victims immediately sought help from police and barangay tanod patrolling nearby. One of the suspects was caught with a gun after running from their getaway tricycle.
In a follow-up operation, the second suspect, a tricycle driver, was also arrested after being tipped off by an accomplice. A bag, a submachine gun, and the tricycle they used were seized from them. According to police, the first suspect was recently released from prison on a murder charge, while the second is from Malabon and lives in Caloocan.
