The ex-boyfriend was arrested after threatening his ex-girlfriend to spread their private video if she did not get back together. According to a report by the NBI-Organized and Transnational Crime Division, the woman filed a complaint after receiving a series of threats from the man.
The woman found out that the man was having an affair while he was abroad, so she broke up with him. But when the man returned to the Philippines, he insisted on getting back together and even threatened to release their sex video. According to the NBI, the woman was unaware that she was secretly filmed while they were having sex.
In an NBI entrapment operation, the man was caught inside a coffee shop. Sensitive videos of the victim were obtained from his gadget. Although he did not directly admit to the allegations, he apologized to the victim and her family.
He was charged with violating the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act and the Cybercrime Prevention Act for threats and harassment. He said he regrets his actions and is ready to pay for them.
