The student life of Franze Nathaniel Regondola is not easy. At the age of 20, he sells snacks at school to finance his studies. Every morning at 5 am, his mother helps him prepare the goods before he goes to school at 7 am. "I'm the one who sells at school. The rest of the income, I give to my mother," said Franze.
His childhood was not happy, but he learned a great lesson. “I learned to strategize in life,” said Franze as she recounted the hardships of their situation. Her stepfather has bone cancer and her mother has stage 2 thyroid cancer. But despite these circumstances, she does not give up.
Franze is determined to finish college. He said, “If I stop studying, our lives will become even more difficult.” So even though someone asks if he is ashamed of selling, he answers, “This is our life, and I will not be ashamed of it.”
Franze is just one of thousands of students who are working hard. For him, as long as there is a dream and determination, nothing is impossible. “They should just pursue their dreams. Nothing will happen if we stop,” he advised fellow working students.
Franze's story is an inspiration to many. It is proof that no matter how difficult life is, there is hope if there is hard work, perseverance, and love for family.
