A cat carrying drugs was captured near the Pococi Penitentiary in Costa Rica on the evening of May 6, 2025. The cat had two packages attached to its body when it was caught by officers.
According to the prison's Facebook post, a black and white cat with gray patches was spotted in one part of the prison. Guards immediately caught it to see what it was carrying.
Upon checking, they found 235.65 grams of marijuana, 67.76 grams of crack paste, and 2 pieces of paper used to make tickets. All drugs were confiscated.
Netizens dubbed the cat "Narcomichi" (short for narco kitten) and it quickly trended on social media.
The cat was brought to the National Animal Health Service (SENASA) for health check-up and proper care.
