A 62-year-old driver was arrested by police in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan after he caught red-handed distributing food packs to voters on election day on May 12, 2025.

According to the report of Police Community Precinct 1, at around 5:40 PM they received a tip from a concerned citizen about a vehicle with the candidate's name circulating near Tungkong Mangga Elementary School.

The personnel of the SJDM City Police Station and City Traffic Management Office (CTMO) immediately responded. Upon arriving at the scene, they caught up with the driver who was distributing food packs outside the school, so he was immediately arrested.

The suspect was identified as a resident of Brgy. Mulawin and has ties to a candidate running for mayor. He allegedly violated the Omnibus Election Code which prohibits the distribution of food, money, or gifts that could influence the vote.

In a statement by PBGen Jean S. Fajardo of PRO 3, he said the PNP is serious about implementing the law during elections. He added that they will not hesitate to file charges against anyone who violates it.
