A Filipino-American man has been arrested in California after allegedly kidnapping a 10-year-old girl he met on the online gaming platform Roblox.
Matthew Macatuno Naval, 27, was arrested on April 13 and is currently being held in the Kern County Jail on $1.35 million bail. He faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, indecent act on a child under 14, and attempting to display indecent material to a minor.
According to court documents, Naval chatted with the boy online and took him on a tour from Taft, a small town in Southern California, to Elk Grove in Northern California. Despite initially planning to go to a park, the boy noticed they were far from their destination.

Naval gave a statement in an interview where he said he thought the child was 18 years old and that they did not engage in sexual activity. However, according to court documents, they kissed and he said they might have continued the sexual activity if the child had consented.
