The leading Senate candidates for 2025—Bong Go, Bam Aquino, and Kiko Pangilinan—were surprised by their high rankings in the partial and unofficial election results. Bong Go is in first place with 21.7 million votes. According to him, “I was surprised by the results. It’s like a report card on whether we performed our duties well.” He also thanked God, his mentor, former President Duterte, and the people who continue to trust him.

Bam Aquino, who is in second place with almost 16.8 million votes, said, “This is very unexpected.” He did not expect such a high voter turnout. According to him, the support of youth and volunteers was a big help. He added, “We made it our mission to be the hardest-working candidate. We went to many places and reminded people of our achievements like free college and jobs.”

Meanwhile, Kiko Pangilinan, who is in fifth place with 12.2 million votes, thought what he saw was “fake news” at first. “I thought it was disinformation again, but it’s true,” he said. He admitted that a lot of fake news was spread against him during the campaign. But in the end, the results were positive, so he is very grateful.

Also among those leading in the partial count are Erwin Tulfo, Ping Lacson, Tito Sotto, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, Lito Lapid, and Imee Marcos. As the counting continues, candidates are hopeful that the entire election process will be fair and peaceful.
