President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has accepted the defeat of five senatorial candidates of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas after the May 12, 2025 midterm elections. According to him, “Even though we did not win all the seats, our work and goals will continue.”
Alyansa previously had 12 senatorial bets, but Senator Imee Marcos was removed from the lineup. Rumors also spread that Rep. Camille Villar would be removed, but this was denied by the group's spokesperson. In 97.2% of partial and unofficial results, six from Alyansa are in the Top 12, while five are at risk of losing.
PBBM called on the newly elected, even from other parties, to work together with the government for the good of the country. “Government is everyone's responsibility. To the newly elected, I extend my hand. Let's work together for the people,” he said.
The President added, “In an honest government, everyone is included.” He believes that success will be more achievable if there is unity and an open mind among everyone.
Meanwhile, Alyansa campaign manager Toby Tiangco said they remain positive about the results. “Our goal is to win candidates who have ability and experience to help the Senate and the Filipino people,” Tiangco said.
