More than 14,000 Move It riders could lose their jobs after the LTFRB reduced the number of their motorcycles. From the previous number, they were only allowed to operate 6,836 units.
Rep. Rodge Gutierrez of the 1-Rider party-list appealed to the LTFRB to reconsider the one-year moratorium imposed on new Move It riders.
According to Gutierrez, this has a huge impact on the hardworking riders who rely on this occupation. He added that they provide essential transportation for the citizens.
Gutierrez also reminded that the motorcycle taxi bill, which has already been approved in the House of Representatives, needs to be enacted.
They plan to talk to the Department of Transportation to review the LTFRB's decision.
