Goldin, the renowned auction house, has officially launched the Pokémon 151 auction, a special showcase celebrating the 30th anniversary of the popular franchise. The limited-lot auction will feature rare collectibles and cards with high historical value.
The auction featured an extremely rare 1998 Prototype Test Holo #009 Blastoise, or better known as “Protostoise”, with a Magic: The Gathering back. It is the first card to be authenticated by the PSA and is considered a museum-grade collectible.
Also included in the auction are other iconic items such as the 1997-98 Pokémon Japanese Promo 2nd Tournament Trophy Pikachu Gold #1, which features original artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita along with his signature and hand-drawn sketch. There is also a 1999 Pokémon Japanese Promo Secret Super Battle No. 1 Trainer, a WATA 9.6/A++ sealed 1998 Pokémon Red Game Boy game, and a Topps Chrome Pokémon Series 1 Tekno uncut sheet.
In addition, silver and bronze Trophy Pikachu cards are also featured, as well as the CGC PRISTINE 10 Holofoil Kangaskhan from the 1998 parent-child tournament. All of these showcase the rare and collectible aspect of the franchise, which is sure to be a favorite among Pokémon collectors around the world.
The Goldin Pokémon 151 Auction is open from now until March 8, 2026. Anyone interested can bid through the auction house, offering the chance to own iconic Pokémon collectibles for a special occasion.
