In compliance with the directive of the President, the long-awaited rehabilitation of EDSA will begin with a view to easing traffic flow and improving road safety. According to a report by Glamritz, the works have been scheduled for off-peak hours to minimize inconvenience to motorists.
Construction will be carried out on an overnight schedule from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. From Monday to Friday, crews will focus on asphalt overlay works, while road reblocking will be carried out from Friday to Sunday during the same evening hours.
Current works cover the northbound and southbound lanes of EDSA, including asphalt overlay, rotomilling, and concrete reblocking. This phased approach aims to keep more lanes open while repairs continue.
For details, asphalt overlay (northbound) is scheduled from January 6 to 11, 2026, in the Magallanes to Ayala Underpass section, covering the second to fifth lines. rotomilling (southbound) will be implemented on January 6 from Scout Mariano to Aurora Boulevard, and January 8–10 from Vanguard area to Kalayaan Flyover. Meanwhile, rotomilling (northbound) is on January 7 from Aurora Boulevard to Apelo Cruz.
Concrete reblocking (northbound) will be carried out from January 9 to 12, 2026, on the third lane from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and stay updated, as weekly notices will be issued as the rehabilitation continues.
