Lionsgate is planning AAA video games for the John Wick and Saw franchises. Adam Fogelson, Chairman of the Motion Picture Group, said in an earnings call that there is “increased interest” in the projects and that development remains on schedule. No details have been released yet about partner studios, cast, or plotlines.
Both franchises have previous experience in video games. John Wick has released John Wick Chronicles VR (2017) and John Wick Hex (2019), while Saw has had two games in 2009 and 2010. A third Saw game announced for 2021 has yet to be released.
Lionsgate sees increasing opportunities in gaming, and is expected to announce more projects in the future. Fans of both franchises are excited about the possibility of AAA gaming experiences that will support their favorite movies.
