
The suspect behind the body found in a storage box in Camarines Norte from Laguna surrendered to the police on January 7, 2026. He was brought to the Cabuyao City Police Station from Rosario, Batangas around midnight.
The suspect did not request an interview, but said he trusts the police to clear his name. According to Basud Police Chief Cpt. Mark Armea, the suspect surrendered voluntarily and the tricycle and bus drivers witnessed the incident.
The suspect's father confirmed that his son admitted to his involvement in the victim's death, but said it was just an accident. He said they had a fight while drunk, and jealousy was possibly the cause of the incident.
Police identified the victim as Anelis Agocoy, 38, from Catarman, Camiguin. According to the victim's cousin, the suspect is Agocoy's live-in partner and a security guard in Basud, Camarines Norte—the area where the body was dumped.
At around 4 a.m. Wednesday, the suspect was inquested and the police are currently investigating the case.
