2026 is expected to be a significant year for manufacturing in the Philippines after Google and Allied Corp. Asia Pacific Pty. Ltd. partnered to build a Chromebook manufacturing facility in Camarines Sur Uptown Global City.
The Camarines Sur Uptown Global City, a project of the LGU, is in the process of becoming a PEZA-registered economic zone. Initial operations are targeted for 2026, which will focus on the local assembly of Google Chromebook laptops and other education technology devices for public schools nationwide.

The facility measures approximately 5,000 square meters and has the capacity to produce 100,000 units per month. Each production shift will create an estimated 110 full-time technician jobs, in addition to indirect jobs in logistics, supply chain, repairs, and after-sales service.
This project is in line with the goal of President Bongbong Marcos to revitalize the manufacturing industry by strengthening human capital and ensuring that investments have concrete benefits for Filipino families, especially outside Metro Manila.
“With local assembly of education devices, the supply chain is strengthened, delays are reduced, and it is ensured that schools—especially in far-flung areas—will not be left behind in the digital transformation of education,” said DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara. Allied Corp. CEO Aron Saether-Jackson, this will help to accelerate deployment and ensure that students have reliable digital tools for a globally competitive future.
