Netflix has announced a new animated series titled “Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85,” that will take viewers back to the mysterious town of Hawkins. Set in the winter of 1985, between Seasons 2 and 3, new supernatural mysteries will resurface.
In the teaser video, the line “Something survived in ‘85,” appears, hinting that there are unfinished stories after the events of Season 3. It will be a companion series to the main show, expanding the Stranger Things universe with new stories while still maintaining the retro and nostalgic theme of the 1980s.
This animated spinoff is slated to premiere in 2026, according to creators Matt and Ross Duffer. They shared that the idea was “one of the early plans” to expand the world of Stranger Things.
According to them, the animation format gives the team freedom to be more creative, allowing them to showcase the unique magic of Hawkins in a new way while emulating the vibe of classic ‘80s cartoons.
The new project is sure to delight fans, who are eager to get a glimpse into the mysteries of Hawkins again—but in a more colorful and animated form.
